Dendritic is based off of a Greek word meaning “Tree-like”. The stone is usually white with black tree-like inclusions. These inclusions can be other colors, including yellow, brown, or orange. The most common color of these inclusions is black. Dendritic Agate and Dendritic Opal have been referred to as Merlinite. Tree Agate, with it's green inclusions, is also a form of Dendritic Agate. It usually goes by the name of Tree Agate, while the stones with black inclusions are known as Dendritic Agate or Merlinite.
